Primary Schools' Professional Sharing Session

Professional sharing session, abbreviated PSS, this time was held at Sekolah Rendah Beribi Telanai in the school's hall on 26 June 2010 afternoon. Mathematics teachers from all Brunei III primary schools around Brunei-Muara gathered for the session, including the Headmasters and Headmistresses, acting Headmasters and Headmistresses of the involved schools. Officers, PKD from the ministry of education also attended the session.

The guest of Honour was Cikgu Rosli bin Awang Haji Damit, Penyelia Daerah Kawasan Brunei I dan III. Sekolah Rendah Tungku presented "Percentages" conducted by Cikgu Siti Khadijah binti Haji Abdul Razak and Madam Lim Yen Yiing. Cikgu Haji Suhaili bin Haji Jaafar, Headmaster of SR Tungku, gave introductional speech regarding the aims of the session being held. A PSR data analysis for years 2006 untill 2008, focusing on the achievement of Mathematics was explained by Cikgu Hamdiah binti Haji Amat, which she claimed and hoped that the sharing session being carried out that day would produce some essential feedbacks to improve the rate thus the learning skills of Mathematics among students.

Teachers were required to add, modify and give feedbacks to the given presentation. MacBooks were used to ease teachers writing tasks. In case some might need more time in the discussion, the workouts can be saved in the computers themselves or personally save them in pendrives and to be sent a copy to SR Tungku by email at srtungku@moe.edu.bn. Some groups managed to make some modifications and presented their ideas to all.

It was hoped that through the professional sharing session would create positive feedbacks. It ended at about 4pm and all attendees had their refreshments thus closing the long discussion session.
