Year 6 Parents Meeting and Record Signing

Signing the records of study progress was the most awaited moment among the parents of Year 6 students. The school organised a parent-teacher meeting in the afternoon of 25 February 2017 in the school's hall.

Cikgu Dzulbaharin, the headmaster, gave a talk and showed the progress report of Year 6 performances based on previous years' achievements. This year the school is hoping the PSR result to stay in the green which indicates that the performance is at a targeted achievement.

But to ensure that to happen, the parents were called up and explained about the aim of the school and the progress of their children based on the first assessment conducted in the early year of 2017 last time.

Parents were welcomed to ask and discuss with the subject teachers on their children's grades, the weaknesses and strengths and the routine to encourage for self-learning at home with guidance from the parents themselves.

School Celebrated National Day

With the passion of loving the country, the school celebrated the 33rd National Day in the school's hall. From Pra to Year 6 students participated in the activities started with the national anthem and followed by the patriotic songs which were sung by all.

The headmaster of the school, Cikgu Dzulbaharin delivered a passionate speech of National Day. An oath of patriotism and loving for the country led by a scout student and followed by all marked the significance of commemorating and remembering the independence day of Brunei Darussalam.

Quizzes all about the independence day hiked up the patriotic feelings of every member encouraging students and teachers to take part in it.

The Patriotism of National Day at Bandar Seri Begawan

A group of students and teachers went off with patriotism to the capital of Bandar Seri Begawan in commemorating the country's 33rd National Day on 23 February 2017. Though the day was wet, the patriotic feeling didn't wear away among the students and teachers.

New 2017 Appointed Student Prefects

A total of about 20 newly appointed school prefects made their oaths this morning before the teachers and students in the school's hall led by the chief prefect, Nazirul Naim from Year 6A.

Cikgu Dzulbaharin, the school's headmaster presented the school prefect batches to each member thus they were officially appointed for the year 2017 batch, taking the responsibilities for the serenity of the school.

Parents Attended Parenting of Year 6 Pupils

A group of Year 6 pupils' parents attended the workshop of parenting for their children who will be having the Peperiksaan Sekolah Rendah (PSR) in October this year. The workshop aimed to instill awareness and responsibility of parents for their children especially in their education progress.

Winner for Netball Tournament 2016

Sekolah Rendah Tungku, once again for the second time, emerged as the winner for Primary School Brunei III zone netball tournament last Thursday. Organised by Co-Curriculum Education, the competition was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium Complex.

Attending as the guest of honour for the final event and also giving away trophies to winners was Pengiran Othman bin Pengiran Karim, Head of Extra Curricular Activities from Department of Schools.

Sekolah Rendah Beribi Telanai came at the second place after Sekolah Rendah Tungku with points 6 to 11, while the third place went to Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Pekerma Setia Diraja Sahibol Bandar after the latter defeated the netball team from Sekolah Rendah Dato Ratna Haji Mohd Jaafar Kiarong.

Top scorer, Dk Sarah Nabilah binti Pengiran Maidin with the position of a GS, scored a total of 39 goals and the overall best player went to a GA, Dk Nur Yana Syahiera Haswizah binti Pengiran Saiful. Both players were from Sekolah Rendah Tungku.

This year Sekolah Rendah Tungku hosted the netball tournament for 10 Brunei III zone primary schools. The tournament encouraged the interest and enthusiasm for the netball sports among primary schools students.

A Visit from SK Lubok Darat Sipitang, Sabah Malaysia.

The school yesterday received an elementary school visit from Sekolah Kebangsaan Lubok Darat, Sabah, Malaysia. Upon arriving, Cikgu Hjh Norliha binti Hj Matali, the headmistress of Tungku Primary School, welcomed the visiting school by firstly attending to the Conference Room for introduction. Also welcoming were the teachers and the students of Tungku Primary School who had been ready since very morning to receive the delegate to the school.

SK Lubok Darat aimed to experience on how the learning in a Brunei government school was like by looking at the teaching and learning approaches, with and without use of technologies, classroom and school environments and the cocurriculum activities for students.

The students of the visiting school had the chance to experience playing chess with Tungku students and also open learning through cocurriculum games in the school's hall organised by extra curricular activities teachers.

Motivational Talk for Year 6 PSR Students

Tungku Primary School organised a motivational talk for its Year 6 students just to instill the spirit to obtain good grades of A to C in Penilaian Sekolah Rendah, PSR for short, which will be held in mid October this year.

Parents of the respective Year 6 students were invited to attend the talk which was presented by Cikgu Kamariah binti Haji Kasah from Counseling and Career Unit, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education. Others attending were the Year 6 teachers and the school's  Headmistress, Cikgu Hajah Norliha binti Haji Matali.

Self-disciplines, learning and study time management skills were among of the items shared with the students and parents, encouraging them to be self-dependent on their studies, apart from guidance from teachers and parents.

The students were hoped to gain some essential knowledge from the talk that could motivate them to pursue their studies for success.
